Throughout our busy summer season, Riverview Park and Zoo collaborates with multiple community groups to throw fun, educational events in the conservation exhibit located in the Dobbin Building (aka the old "Monkey House").
Our Conservation Exhibit is free for all to attend, and includes interactive games, touch tables, and additional animal exhibits such as frogs, turtles, salamanders, and even a blue racer snake!
Drop in for a visit to beat the heat or after taking a ride on the miniature train. Open throughout July and August from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The friendly staff at Guest Services offer first aid, customer service, and general information about the Park and Zoo to help you plan your stay.
Inside you'll also find the Gift Shop where you can purchase ice cream, chips and candy, or a special souvenir to remember your visit. Feel good knowing all proceeds from Gift Shop sales directly support Park and Zoo operations and programs.
10:30 AM | 1300 Water Street N, Peterborough ON K9H 7G4
Parents are invited to bring their little ones and join us on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for "Story time in Critters Corner" during July and August.
Meet us by the little building beside the accessible swings in the playground area, where our educators will share a short story with the children and may even have a special critter on hand to help tell the tale!
1:30 PM | 1300 Water Street N, Peterborough ON K9H 7G4
Offered year round, join us 1:30 p.m. daily to see our North American River Otters receive their afternoon enrichment in their outdoor exhibit!
One of our zookeepers will be on hand to tell you more about these amazing animals, their adaptations, diets and animal care, as well as their enrichment and training here at the Park and Zoo.
2:30 PM | 1300 Water Street N, Peterborough ON K9H 7G4
Weekdays at 2:30 p.m., join our "Meet the Keeper" sessions. One of our educators will assemble outside of an animal exhibit to tell you a little more about the species and be happy to answer your questions.
A different animal is featured each day of the week -- by far, your best way to learn about the animals here at the zoo! On Wednesdays, we'll be highlighting our camels, unless upon consultation with our Animal Care team in the morning an alternate animal is suggested.
Watch for signs to be posted at Guest Services and throughout the park for further details!
